Residence Collection FAQs

Can anyone buy these products or are they only available to colleges?

The Residence Collection items are available for anyone to purchase, except for the Loft Bed – Institution, which is only available to universities and other institutions.

Do you offer contract-type sales with competitive discounts?

Yes, for colleges, universities and other institutions. Please see our B2B page for more details. We would be happy to prepare a quotation to meet your institution’s furniture needs.

Is assembly required?

With the exceptions that follow, Residence Collection products come fully assembled. The casters on the File Pedestal are removed for transit, but screw on easily. The Loft Bed – Institution requires minor assembly of the wood facing and safety rail. The Loft Bed – Residential involves more assembly of the safety rail components and ladder; easy-to-follow instructions are provided.

How are the products packaged?

The loft bed frames are wrapped; the other products are packaged in corrugated cartons. All items are palletized for motor freight transit.

How heavy are the products?

They are relatively heavy, but not cumbersome. The Loft Bed – Institution weighs 135 lb, Loft Bed – Residential including the ladder weighs 170 lb, and the other products weigh between 30 lb (Shelf) and 160 lb (Armoire).

Are they sturdy?

Yes, very sturdy! The loft bed utilizes welded tube-steel end frames, taper lock joints, and heavy gage cross bracing for maximum rigidity. All of the other items utilize welded steel frames throughout the perimeter, offering added strength.

Are components replaceable?

Yes. All melamine panels and wood facing components are replaceable. Removal and installation is relatively straightforward. Standard fasteners are used. Steel components are also replaceable. Parts are available from TimberNest; contact us for a quotation.

How does the height of the Loft Bed adjust?

A label is provided for display on the underside of the spring-frame showing how to adjust the bed to the 4 positions: highest, high, middle, bunked. Two people are required. The cross-brace and mattress must be removed, and the loft bed assembly set on its backside. A rubber mallet is recommended to tap the underside of the bedspring hooks to dislodge them from the ends. Insert the hooks into the new height position; stand up the bed and reattach the cross-brace and mattress.

Does the loft bed come in other sizes?

No. We only offer the TN108 loft beds in the Twin Extra Long model. See the Wood Collection for other loft bed sizes.

Are other finishes available?

Yes, but only for contract sales. Custom finish options are available for volume orders place by universities and institutions, see B2B for more details. Only the finishes displayed in the product finish/price dropdown boxes are available for retail purchase.

Can you send me a catalog of your products?

Yes, just click on the “Download Residence Collection Brochure” link on the product detail pages for a brochure. We also have a similar link on the Wood Collection product pages.

Is design consultation available?

Yes, for contract sales only, see B2B for more details. Someone on our staff would be happy to assist you in room configurations and furniture selection/ arrangement.
